Puno was the place where Tiwanaku culture (800-1200 AC) developes, the highest expression of the Aymara people that established themselves in what is now Peru and Bolivia. The Incas took over the territory in the 15th century and the Spanish left an important colonial legacy throughout the area attracted by mining activities. The surroundings of Puno (3827 m) are spectacular, highlighting the Sillustani funerary towers, Juli, and Colonial churches; Lampa and its colonial church; and Pucara, famous for its bulls of Pucara. "
The Lake Titicaca contains numerous islands "floating islands" such as the Uros of artificially made reed. Amantani and Taquile are known for the friendliness of its inhabitants and beautiful landscapes as well as their ancestral customs.

JULIACA/PUNO Reception and tranfer to the hotel in Puno |

PUNO/ISLANDS Pick up service from the hotel to the Port of Puno, where we will cross the Lake Titicaca toward the Amantani island. On the way we will visit the Uros floating island. At Amantani, BASIC lodging in a family house, where you can get in touch to their daily routines; and in the afternoon, there is a climb to the Pacha Tata (Andean Temple of the region). Return to the houses. At night small gathering with music. B/L/D |

ISLANDS/PUNO Morning departure to the Taquile island, where we can appreciate their ways of weaving and its handicrafts. Lunch and transfer to Puno by the Lake. / B/L |
