Canta (2800 m) is a popular small town on the fringes of the high Andes at three hours from Lima by paved road. Canta surroundings offer trails for good hiking. 2 of them are Cantamarca ruins and Huaros village. The pre-Inca ruins of Cantamarca (3600 m) consist of large burial towers made from finely cut stone. 25 kilometers farther is Huaros village (3600 m) starting from there, there is a trail that goes straight inside the valley and finishes in Obrajillo village (2700m).
